I was kinda forced to look into a magnifying mirror today, something I try never to do. In fact, I hadn’t looked closely in any mirror since before we left for vacation almost two weeks ago.
I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw that my lashes started to grow back—lots of them. I jumped up in excitement while other women around the table cheered me on with delight.
This all took place at a Look Good Feel Better workshop at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center today. Talk about perfect timing.
The eight of us who attended were given a magnifying mirror, along with a large makeup bag filled with complimentary personal care products from high-end brands such as Dior, Estee Lauder, and Clinique.
The facilitators, Penny and Betty, then walked us through putting on our best faces, so we can look fabulous, even though—some days—we may feel lousy.
Despite our battles, each of us at the table was a gorgeous beauty before we even got started; after the step-by-step tutorial, however, we blossomed into ravishing butterflies.
Although my new lashes are not quite ready for mascara, I managed to put much of what was in the bag to use and am eager to show off my new look.
In the meantime, cheers to feeling good, inside and out!
